Manufacturing the Future

An initiative to increase awareness about manufacturing in Wisconsin including its history, the challenges it faces today and the future for our next-generation of manufacturers. The program includes a documentary with educational components and a web site with links to resources and information about the manufacturing industry. The Manufacturing The Future Program will shine a light on an industry once thought of as dark and low-tech and give you a glimpse of the future of manufacturing in Wisconsin.

An interactive website that allows users to explore manufacturing more in-depth - including engineering careers, summer camp opportunities for students, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Institute.

The Manufacturing Institute
The Manufacturing Institute (MI) is the 501(c) 3 affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).  As a non-partisan organization, the MI is committed to delivering leading-edge information and services to the nation's manufacturers. We focus on developing human capital strategies through education reform and workforce development, conducting applied research to provide critical information to public policy makers on challenges and opportunities for today's industry, and advancing the innovation capacity of manufacturers.
